Sex Mate or Soul Mate
At just sixteen, Jennifer’s (AKA Lufa Prud) life is turned upside down when an unexpected pregnancy leads to her expulsion from the only home she has ever known. Forced to survive on the streets of Kingston, Jamaica, she endures poverty, heartbreak, and the devastating loss of her newborn son. Refusing to surrender, Jennifer fights to reclaim her child and rebuild her life, believing that hope can still triumph over despair.
When love offers the promise of a fresh start, it soon descends into emotional and physical abuse, forcing Jennifer to make the hardest decision of her life: remain trapped by fear or pursue a better future for herself and her children in Great Britain. Sex Mate or Soul Mate is a powerful memoir of resilience, courage, and self-discovery that explores the true meaning of love, motherhood, and inner strength. Jennifer’s unforgettable journey reminds us that while others may shape our circumstances, only we can define our destiny.
A Word From The Author
Thank you for choosing to read my story. Writing this memoir required me to revisit some of the most painful chapters of my life, but I also rediscovered the strength, hope, and determination that carried me through them. My journey has taught me that no matter how difficult our circumstances, our past does not have to define our future. Every setback can become a stepping stone if we refuse to give up.
If my story encourages even one person to find the courage to leave an unhealthy situation, to believe in their own worth, or to keep fighting for a better tomorrow, then sharing it has been worthwhile. I hope these pages remind you that healing is possible, love begins with self-respect, and even after life’s darkest moments, brighter days can still be found. Thank you for allowing me to share my journey with you.

What Readers Are Saying
Sed ut perspiciatis unde omnis iste natus error sit voluptatem accu santium doloremque lauda ntium.
“Sex Mate or Soul Mate” gripped me from the very first page. Jennifer’s story is both devastating and inspiring, and I found myself rooting for her at every turn. Growing up in Kingston, being thrown out at sixteen, losing her baby, fighting to get him back—her resilience is nothing short of extraordinary.
What moved me most was her honesty. She doesn’t sugarcoat the pain of abuse or the confusion of love that hurts more than it heals. Her eventual decision to leave Jamaica for Great Britain shows a level of courage that left me in awe.
This memoir is a reminder that sometimes the greatest soul mate we find is ourselves. Jennifer’s transformation is powerful, emotional, and unforgettable. Highly recommended.

A Raw, Heart‑Wrenching Journey of Survival and Strength
I devoured this book in two sittings. Jennifer’s voice is so vivid and authentic that I felt like I was walking beside her through the streets of Kingston and later through the challenges of starting over in Britain.
Her experiences—teen pregnancy, homelessness, abuse—are heartbreaking, but the way she rises above them is deeply inspiring. The memoir explores the difference between a sex mate and a soul mate in a way that feels real, not cliché.
This is more than a memoir. It’s a testament to the strength of mothers, the importance of self‑worth, and the bravery it takes to rebuild your life. I’ll be thinking about Jennifer’s story for a long time.

Emotional, Empowering, and Impossible to Put Down
Jennifer’s journey is not an easy one to read, but that’s exactly why it’s so impactful. She lays bare the realities of growing up too fast, being failed by the people meant to protect her, and navigating relationships that blur the line between love and harm.
The sections about her abusive relationship were especially difficult, but they were written with such clarity and emotional truth that I couldn’t look away. Her eventual escape and move to Great Britain felt like a breath of fresh air—a turning point I desperately hoped she’d reach.
I would have loved even more detail about her life after leaving Jamaica, but overall this memoir is powerful, brave, and beautifully written.

Honest and Unfiltered—A Story That Stays With You
This memoir is a celebration of perseverance. Jennifer’s love for her children is the heartbeat of the book, and it’s what carries her through every hardship. Her determination to reclaim her son after being forced out of her home at sixteen brought tears to my eyes.
The contrast between the promise of new love and the reality of abuse is handled with sensitivity and honesty. When Jennifer finally chooses herself—chooses freedom—it feels like a victory for every woman who has ever felt trapped.
“Sex Mate or Soul Mate” is uplifting, emotional, and full of hard‑won wisdom. A must‑read for anyone who values stories of resilience and self‑discovery.
